The evening had it all.
On July 10, we packed the beautiful Dentons offices with members, partners, and friends of the Belgian Canadian Business Chamber for our Annual General Meeting.
The vibe? Warm, vibrant, and full of connection, a clear sign that BCBC is growing, and our community is more engaged than ever.
From leadership changes to big-picture plans and a few emotional moments in between (no tears, promise), it was a night of change, gratitude, and energy.
A new President steps in
The biggest news of the evening: David Dzialowski (CBTW) was officially appointed President of the BCBC for 2025–2026.
David is no stranger to the Chamber. As a longtime board member, he has been a dedicated supporter of BCBC’s mission and growth. His appointment brings renewed energy, vision, and continuity, and we’re excited to have him at the helm for what promises to be a dynamic year.

After six years as President, Xavier Van Overmeire handed over the role, leaving behind a strong foundation and some big shoes to fill.
Under his leadership, the Chamber kept growing steadily: more members, more partners, more structure, and more visibility. Always composed, always committed, Xavier helped turn ideas into action, and his ability to rally people kept the Chamber moving forward. We’re incredibly grateful for his dedication and look forward to his continued involvement on the Executive Committee.
New Board & Executive Committee
New chapter, new energy.
This year, five fresh directors joined the Board, bringing new ideas, fresh perspectives, (and we hope a few strong opinions). We also shuffled a few seats on the Executive Committee, adding new roles to keep up with the Chamber’s growing ambitions. For the full list, check our website!

BCBC’s 2025–2026 strategy is all about growing smarter and staying connected.
On the radar:
Mastering how we work – updating roles, responsibilities, and how we make decisions
Teaming up more – building stronger ties with other European Chambers of Commerce
Growing the circle – bringing in new partners, members, and bold collaborations
The full roadmap will be shared at the first Board meeting in October.

Event details will be shared on LinkedIn and by email. And before we wrap up...
We couldn’t possibly end this recap without celebrating the people who made it all possible.

One of the most touching moments of the night was the honorary distinction awarded to Anne Popoff, CEO of BCBC. Her unwavering commitment, leadership, and care have been the glue holding so many moving parts together. Whether behind the scenes or front and centre, Anne has played a crucial role in shaping the Chamber into what it is today — and continues to inspire everyone around her.
The AGM also marked another kind of farewell: it was the last General Assembly for Ambassador Patrick Van Gheel and for Counselor Maxime Ramon, who represented the Embassy of Belgium on our Board. Their dedication and presence over the years have brought depth, perspective, and connection to the BCBC. We thank them both sincerely and wish them the very best in their next chapters.
Thank you
To all our members, volunteers, and partners.
Thank you for being part of this special evening and for helping build something meaningful.
As we close one chapter and begin another, we look forward to a year of continued collaboration, fresh ideas, and strong connections.
Here’s to another year of BCBC — growing together.
